Pak protestors call off march in PoK

Protesters in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir ended their demonstration demanding subsidised wheat flour and reduced electricity tariffs. The Awami Action Committee announced the govt's acceptance of demands, supported by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Clashes with police and Rangers resulted in casualties. The protests coincided with an IMF mission warning of social unrest and fiscal challenges.

SC slams trial courts for seeking needless custody

The Supreme Court on Tuesday expressed shock over some trial courts not complying with its July 2022 order to be liberal and grant bail to accused in cases when custody is not needed.
