Praggu first Indian after Vishy Anand to enter WC semis

R Praggnanandhaa defeated his friend Erigaisi Arjun in the quarterfinals of the World Cup chess tournament in Baku. However, Arjun managed to secure a spot in the Candidates Tournament in 2024. Praggnanandhaa will face Fabiano Caruana in the semifinals, while in the women's semifinal, Nurguyl Salimova of Bulgaria defeated Anna Muzhychuk of Ukraine. Salimova will go on to play Aleksandra Goryachkina in the two-game title clash.
