Every time an Isro rocket takes off or a mission like Chandrayaan-3 is completed, project comparisons — even with movies — become commonplace. How does India do it? “That’s a secret,” said Isro chairman Somanath in half jest after Vikram’s touchdown on Wednesday. Isro scientists said three factors make its missions cost-effective: Indigenisation, ingenuity, affordable manpower.

SC slams trial courts for seeking needless custody

The Supreme Court on Tuesday expressed shock over some trial courts not complying with its July 2022 order to be liberal and grant bail to accused in cases when custody is not needed.
