Nirav loses all UK legal options, could be sent back in 28 days

Fugitive billionaire Nirav Modi lost Thursday all legal options in UK courts and could be extradited to India within 28 days—unless he manages to get an emergency injunction from European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), or if he has applied for British asylum. His extradition could end a riveting drama since he fled India after Punjab National Bank accused him of defrauding Rs 6,498 crore in January 2018.

SC slams trial courts for seeking needless custody

The Supreme Court on Tuesday expressed shock over some trial courts not complying with its July 2022 order to be liberal and grant bail to accused in cases when custody is not needed.
