Cabinet restores MPLAD scheme after Covid break

Citing improvement in the economic situation, the government on Wednesday decided to restore the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) that were suspended in April last year so that funds could be used in the fight against Covid-19. Since most of the year has already gone by, it has been decided to restore the funds for the remaining part of the financial year that ends on March 31.
