Thunderstorm damages Taj Mahal’s railings

A small portion of the marble and red sand stone railings behind the Taj Mahal’s main mausoleum on the side of Yamuna river were damaged after an iron scaffolding fell on it due to the heavy thunderstorm that hit Agra last night. It would require Rs 20 lakh for the ASI to repair the damage. According to ASI officials, the scaffoldings were put for cleaning the dome.
